to wear or not to wear.

so okay, originally in the outline there was a scene in pccf where brendon catches ryan wearing girls' underwear, and it's not like a ~thing in the fic, but it's a moment that just adds to the tension (they do show up one more time after that).  and ryan was like, look, it's not a thing, i just like it sometimes, it's comfortable to sleep in, and.  yeah.  but then i took it out of the outline because i know not everyone is into that, and i didn't want to like randomly throw my kink in and add a dimension that a lot of people would go squicky over.  but after the response to [Poll #1346854]happy commando tuesday!

oh, GOD. see, i absolutely HATE genderswap too! UGH. there is nothing i hate more in fic, nothing. to me it is so utterly indulgent and out of character because of society's genderization of everything; you can't just MAKE SOMEONE another gender and pretend it makes sense, like they're still the same character! they wouldn't be! sorry, i could rant about that all day if you let me, haha. but cross-dressing if they're still boys, i can totally get down with that. to me it's totally, completely separate from swapping genders. i think everyone has the potential for curiosity/experimentation.

if i do include it, hopefully it won't be too cheesy/blatant for you. ;) thanks for sharing.

ARTICHOKES FTW.

EXACTLY. It makes no sense character-wise. At all. What gets me most about it is that it so very often conceals deeper issues anywhere on the scale from general social heteronormatism (which is harmful enough in itself) all the way to deep-seated homophobia. We're writing *slash*. Two *men*. There is never, ever a need to turn one of them into a woman (I mean, it has been done for lulz or for kink by perfectly awesome people, but 90% of the time...).

Oh, I agree totally about crossdressing; in and of itself, it has much potential for win XD Haha, I was in Japan last week, and got to chat to the most awesome crew of *serious* crossplayers wandering around Akihabara (beautiful velvet dresses, big manly shoulders ;D). And less flamboyant crossdressing is much more common than that, obviously, and has much kink and enjoyment ;D A lot of the time when people write it in fic, though, it's 'I'm not writing genderswap but really I am'. Thus I choose not to read it, unless I know the author.

You, however, are clearly not about to write genderswap unless threatened at gunpoint or possibly bribed with epic gsf, so I shall read very happily ;D

(YES :P)

EXACTLY. just. exactly. everything you said. and seriously, like, if you want to write het (ew), fine, there are girls in bandom to choose from, but let our boys keep their damn dicks! :P

oooooooh, japan! lucky you! that's so awesome. yeah; i've read some crossdressing fics that were kind of meh, but then i've read some that were just mind-blowing. i can find you those later if you want.

i wouldn't even write genderswap if bribed with gsf. only gunpoint. XD

Oooooh, yes please XD Fic recs are always a good thing :D

Hehehe :D *sigh of relief* :P

(and having just read your aubergine cross-dressing fic, it is awesome. Guh. Muchly awesome)

I have found ONE genderswap fic that I actually liked.
And it wasn't even real, actual genderswap; it was trans-gender Spencer.

I READ THAT ONE TOO, and it was GOOD b/c (well obv b/c i can related, but) it could totally have been canon.
