nah, his girls speech just came to me for this. ryan's hetero tendencies seem very complex to me; i needed something unique to explain them away, i guess. he did have a bit in an earlier chapter about how it was easier to be with keltie than be alone, so maybe that's what you're thinking of. ryan lets fear stop him from doing a lot. that's kind of a theme in this fic... and god, will it ever bite him in the ass later. /spoilers.
