Sorry, yeah, I was thinking syphilis. All the 19th century realist syphilis plays stuck in my head :P Or, you know, scrap that and say physical fatigue, or an infected wound, or anything :P Off the cuff flailing XD
But yeah, no question anyway 'cause it's not happening. No way. Devastating futility is great, but not in fic. Never in fic. Dw, it was just me flailing overexcitedly :) We wouldn't go there, I don't think ;D
