Spencer knew something was wrong when Brendon turned down the last Krispy Kreme donut.

“No thanks,” he said softly, sitting perfectly still with his big brown eyes wide and angelic. “Ryan can have it.”

Yeah, something was definitely up. Spencer knew Brendon would share just about anything with Ryan to get his attention - honestly, the poor kid’s crush was obvious to everyone except Ryan - but sugar was not something Brendon parted with voluntarily.

“Thanks, man,” Ryan said, snatching the last glazed donut from the box and taking a large bite.

When Brendon’s eyes went dark and his pink tongue darted out to moisten his full lips, Spencer got suspicious and turned to follow the singer’s line of vision, just in time to catch sight of his best friend with his eyes closed and head tipped back, sucking the glaze off one long, slender finger until it was completely clean before inserting the next digit into his mouth.

Spencer didn’t cockblock, but he sure as hell didn’t need to watch his best friend accidentally seduce his lead singer, either. He fled the lounge in search of Jon, plans for a shoe shopping expedition already forming in his mind.
